Rebuilding our world with new carbon elements that turn buildings into carbon storage structures

Objetivo

Fifth Innovation Oy has pioneered Elementic - an innovative, carbon-ceramics material crafted from forest & agricultural side streams which are currently burnt for energy. Elementic valorizes lignin for the first time into a hard, structurally durable mono-material that stores approximately 3 kg of atmospheric CO2 for every 1 kg of material produced.

With applicability in the construction sector as bricks, Elementic represents the most significant generation shift of the fundamental brick technology since mass production. Elementic bricks are lightweight, but sturdy; weather resistant; fire retardant; insulating; VOC and plastic-free; are sourced locally and can be completely recycled and reused at the end of life.

Elementic is the next step in construction material sustainability, transforming buildings into carbon storages. Replacing an average detached household’s façade with Elementic is sufficient to negate the entire embedded CO2 footprint of the entire building.
